Preparing for Fulfillment - Locking Addresses!
10 months ago – Tue, Jul 25, 2023 at 10:21:03 AM

Hey everyone!

We know that the games are finished manufacturing, and vessels are scheduled! We expect landfall in August and fulfillment to begin shortly after that. Once games are at hubs, we will have a better estimate for each region for fulfillment expectations.

It is time to lock addresses. Please do so by MONDAY, JULY 31st!

ADDRESSES WILL LOCK MONDAY, JULY 31ST!

So head over to BackerKit and make any changes you need. If you have any questions or require support, please email us at [email protected].

Thank you so much, and have a great week!

Cheers!

Production & Fulfillment Update from Fryx Games
10 months ago – Thu, Jun 29, 2023 at 09:39:06 AM

Dear Backers,

With most games already produced, we now enter the phase of Kickstarter, which is the most uncertain in terms of timing: shipping and fulfillment. All games should be completed tomorrow (June 30th), with most games already finished.

Games bound for the EU and UK are on their way, and we hope to receive them here at the end of July to be fulfilled in August or the beginning of September. Our main goal is to have fulfillment done in the EU and UK well before Essen Spiel in October, where the game will debut.

Games bound for the rest of the world are planned to be shipped next week, and we hope for a similar timeline, although we will not get estimates from the fulfillment centers until they are onboard a ship and have an ETA ready.

Plans are often disrupted when it comes to shipping and fulfillment. Even though we might not encounter a stuck mega-ship in the Suez Canal that turns into a worldwide logistics bottleneck again, thousands of factors are weighing in on the timing of global shipping, and we ask that you have patience through this process. We are as eager to get this game into your hands as you are to receive it. Have a great summer, everyone!

Update from Fryx Games + Unboxing!
11 months ago – Wed, May 31, 2023 at 12:08:18 PM

Greetings, Terraformers!

Today we bring you a fresh update directly from Fryx Games, which includes the latest information about our production process and video unboxing of the production sample!

Hi backers! We have received the production samples from the factory. A production sample is a final version of the product, where we get to see and approve the product one last time before it enters mass production. The focus in this step of the production is to make sure that all items are really included, that they fit nicely, that the order in which they are packed makes sense, and that the impression you get when opening it is good. Of course, we wanted to play immediately, but I quickly made an on-the-go unboxing video to share with you, so you could see the product before we punched everything. Cheers!

Status Update: Locking Survey NEXT WEEK - MAY 23rd!!
12 months ago – Tue, May 16, 2023 at 11:24:05 AM

We've received word from the Fryx Games team that production is on track to be completed shortly, so now we need to lock things down to determine how many games we need to send to each region's fulfillment center.

We plan to close the BackerKit surveys next week, May 23rd.

That means if you haven't already selected and paid for your desired pledge level, or any add-ons you might want, you'll need to do that now! Sign in to Backerkit, or follow the link in the email sent from Backerkit.  If you have technical difficulties, the instructions are unclear, or you can't find the specific combination of pledge items you would like, please message [email protected] with the specifics of what you need. We'll be happy to follow up with you.

Thank you!

White Box Sample Update from FryxGames!
about 1 year ago – Tue, Mar 21, 2023 at 10:39:33 AM

Dear backers,

We bring good news! We have recently received the white sample of the Dice Game box. A white sample is a copy of the game without any printing on it. This is made to assure that every component has a place in the box, that the size of everything looks right, that the material thickness and feel, finish etc. is what we want. And I am happy to say that it looks great!

We also received the print sheets for the game, where we inspect the colors of the print. It is not unusual for colors to appear differently in print than on the screen. A rule of thumb is that everything looks darker in print than on screen. So this is an important step of the production, and again we think it looks great. This also allowed us to test the size of the white sample tokens on the print sheet of the boards to ensure that the size was appropriate.

As an avid card gamer, I love seeing the print sheets for card decks, seeing all the cards laid out, and knowing that they will be automatically cut and stacked and wrapped, and placed in the box. Some people think I am strange, but opening a freshly produced deck of cards (or a booster pack for a trading card game) and just smelling the cards.... mmm, it brings back so many good memories. My wife thinks it stinks of glue, so to each their own, I guess.

Anyway, just a few days ago, we also received the first samples of the dice for review. The dice are the centerpiece of this game and it is important that they look good. While the material is great with a nice weight and finish, and the icons are crisp and clear, we are not satisfied with the colors, we felt they looked a little bland and too faded. The gray dice were actually white for some strange reason. Issues like this always pop up in production, so we are not worried; we just need to get it worked out.

As I mentioned above, the colors in print and production may sometimes differ a lot from what we see on screen. And even if the color is technically correct, we might experience it differently due to the material, finish, or the lighting where the dice are being used. In this case, we want more color in them, and we will adjust a couple of indention colors as well to be close to the icons on the cards. We have just been in a meeting where we have adjusted the colors, so even though I am happy to show you the samples, rest assured that they will look even better when they reach you!

That's it for now, have a great weekend!
